Last season, he completed 2,679 passes with 91.7% accuracy, maintained a 60% dribble success rate, and added 20 tackles and 56 interceptions without a single red card. This marks the Dutchman’s fifth inclusion in the PFA Team of the Year since 2018/19, reaffirming his legendary status at Anfield.

Milos Kerkez – Bournemouth/Liverpool

Now a Liverpool player after his transfer from Bournemouth, Milos Kerkez had a breakthrough season. The Hungarian left-back completed 1,086 successful passes, made 26 tackles and 45 interceptions, establishing himself as one of the league’s best young defenders.

William Saliba – Arsenal

A vital part of Mikel Arteta’s defensive setup, William Saliba delivered another outstanding season. The Frenchman completed 2,409 passes, won 37 tackles, and made 21 interceptions. Remarkably, this is Saliba’s third consecutive PFA Team of the Year inclusion, making him the first player in Premier League history to achieve such a streak.

Gabriel Magalhães – Arsenal

Partnering Saliba at the back, Gabriel Magalhães was equally influential. The Brazilian centre-back posted a 90.7% passing accuracy, won 60% of his tackles, and maintained an 80% dribble success rate while contributing 1,477 successful passes.

Declan Rice – Arsenal

One of the most complete midfielders in world football, Declan Rice earns his first-ever PFA Team of the Year award. His leadership and all-round midfield play were crucial to Arsenal’s title challenge.

Ryan Gravenberch – Liverpool

Liverpool’s Dutch midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough season, combining technical quality with defensive grit. His high pass accuracy, tackling numbers, and interceptions made him a key part of Arne Slot’s midfield in their title-winning campaign.

Alexis Mac Allister – Liverpool

The Argentine was instrumental in Liverpool’s midfield. With five goals, five assists, 87.2% passing accuracy, and 61.1% tackle success, Mac Allister balanced creativity with defensive reliability.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

No PFA Team of the Year feels complete without Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian forward won his third PFA Player of the Year award, becoming the first player in Premier League history to do so. Salah was also the league’s top scorer with 29 goals, marking the third Golden Boot of his career.

Alexander Isak – Newcastle United

Newcastle’s star striker Alexander Isak was the second-highest scorer in the Premier League, netting 23 goals. His sharp finishing and clinical movement made him one of the hottest transfer targets of the summer.

Chris Wood – Nottingham Forest

Veteran striker Chris Wood had a stunning campaign, scoring 20 goals to finish as the fourth-highest scorer in the Premier League. His contribution helped Forest qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League, cementing his place among the best XI of the season.

The PFA Team of the Year 2025 reflects the dominance of Liverpool and Arsenal, while also rewarding standout performers from Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, and Bournemouth. With legends like Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah continuing to shine and rising stars like Milos Kerkez and Alexander Isak making their mark, the Premier League remains home to some of the world’s most elite football talent.
