The BlueCo Group owned by Chelsea owner Todd Boehley signs the Paraguayian international on €20m package from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Chelsea have secured the signing of Julio Enciso from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth around €20 million, with the young forward set to spend the 2025/26 season at Strasbourg before officially joining the Blues on a long-term contract until 2031, with an option to extend until 2032.
The 21-year-old Paraguayan talent is the latest player to move through the BlueCo multi-club model, which also includes Strasbourg, giving him an opportunity to gain valuable game time in Ligue 1 before making the switch to Stamford Bridge.
Injury-Hit Spell at Ipswich Town
Last season, Enciso spent time on loan at Ipswich Town in the Premier League, but injuries limited his impact to just 13 appearances. Despite his struggles, Chelsea remain convinced of his potential and view him as a long-term asset for their attacking setup.
Career Beginnings at Libertad
Enciso first made his mark at Club Libertad in Paraguay, scoring 21 goals in 69 appearances. He played a crucial role in helping the club lift the Copa Paraguay in 2019 and the Primera División title in 2021. His rise caught European attention, eventually leading to his move to Brighton.
Breakthrough at Brighton & Goal of the Season
The forward produced one of the most memorable moments of his career in 2023, scoring a sensational long-range strike against Manchester City at the Amex Stadium under manager Roberto De Zerbi. That goal not only won Brighton’s Goal of the Season award but also showcased his flair, technical ability, and confidence on the big stage.
International Credentials
On the international front, Enciso has already earned 27 caps for Paraguay, scoring four goals for the national team. He is regarded as one of the country’s brightest prospects and a key figure for their future ambitions in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers.
Romano Confirms the Deal
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move on X, stating:
“Julio Enciso will join BlueCo Group, spending this season at Strasbourg, then joining Chelsea. Here we go! Season 2025/26 in France… and then future at Chelsea, contract until 2031 plus option until 2032. €20m package to Brighton, add-ons included. Medical on Thursday.”
Enciso’s transfer underlines Chelsea’s long-term recruitment strategy, targeting young talents with high ceilings and developing them through the BlueCo network. If he can stay fit and rediscover his form at Strasbourg, the Paraguayan could become an exciting addition to Chelsea’s forward line alongside the likes of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
