The cherries have agreed to sign a 19-year old Scottish right-winger from Liverpool on £20m with £5m add-ons.

Bournemouth FC are closing in on the signing of Ben Doak from Liverpool in a deal worth around £25 million, with only paperwork and a medical pending before the transfer is completed.
The Scottish international, who previously came through Liverpool’s academy before joining Celtic, made just 10 senior appearances for the Reds between 2022 and 2024. Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he enjoyed a breakout campaign, scoring three goals and providing seven assists across 24 appearances in the Championship.
The 19-year-old winger was left out of Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth due to the ongoing negotiations. The Cherries are eager to wrap up the deal swiftly following the departure of Dango Ouattara, who joined Brentford last week for a reported £42.5m.
Bournemouth have endured a turbulent summer transfer window, losing several key players to European giants. Illia Zabarnyi joined Paris Saint-Germain, Dean Huijsen signed for Real Madrid, and Milos Kerkez moved to Liverpool, with the three deals bringing in a combined £150m.
Despite those high-profile exits, Bournemouth have made notable additions. Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, left-back Adrien Truffert, and centre-back Bafodé Diakité have all arrived at the Vitality Stadium. However, Petrovic’s debut was far from ideal, as the Cherries suffered a 4-2 defeat to Liverpool in their opening match of the Premier League 2025/26 season.
Manager Andoni Iraola admitted after the match that his side are still some way off competing at the level he expects. Speaking to BBC Sport, he said Bournemouth are “not where they want to be,” underlining the need for further reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
If completed, Doak’s signing will provide Bournemouth with much-needed attacking depth and a long-term replacement for Ouattara. The young Scottish winger’s pace, creativity, and potential make him a valuable addition as the Cherries aim to strengthen their squad for the season ahead.
