Ferrari has officially renewed Team Principal Fred Vasseur’s contract with a fresh five-year deal, reaffirming their long-term commitment to his leadership. The Italian F1 giants currently sit second in the 2025 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship standings, ahead of arch-rivals Mercedes and Red Bull Racing.
Vasseur joined the Scuderia Ferrari team ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 season. Under his guidance, the team made significant strides, narrowly missing out on second place in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship — finishing just 14 points behind Red Bull and providing a strong challenge to the eventual champions, McLaren.
Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix on August 3, a Ferrari spokesperson told F1.com:
“Under Fred’s leadership, Ferrari is united, focused and committed to continuous improvement. The trust placed in him reflects the team’s confidence in its strategic direction and reinforces a shared determination to deliver the results that Ferrari’s fans, drivers, and team members expect and deserve.”
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna also expressed his support, saying:
“Today, we want to recognize what has been built and commit to what still needs to be achieved. This extension reflects our trust in Fred’s leadership — a trust rooted in shared ambition, mutual expectations, and clear responsibility. We move forward with determination and focus, united in our pursuit of the level of performance Ferrari must aim for.”
With Vasseur’s future now secured, Ferrari aims to mount a stronger challenge in the remainder of the 2025 F1 season, targeting both the Drivers’ Championship and the Constructors’ title. The team’s focus will be on consistency, reliability, and race-winning strategies to restore Ferrari’s legacy at the top of Formula 1.
