The venues and schedule for the 17th edition of the Asia Cup have officially been announced, with the United Arab Emirates and Oman set to co-host the continental tournament. Scheduled from 9 to 28 September 2025, this edition marks the largest in the tournament’s history, featuring eight participating teams.
Originally slated to be hosted by Pakistan, the tournament was relocated due to ongoing concerns surrounding India-Pakistan relations. In response, the Asian Cricket Council confirmed that the competition will now be held across venues in the UAE and Oman.
For the first time in Asia Cup history, the tournament will see an expanded format. The eight teams have been divided into two groups of four:
- Group A: India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman
- Group B: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong

As per the official schedule, India will begin their Asia Cup journey on 10 September, facing co-hosts UAE. The much-anticipated clash against traditional rivals Pakistan is set for 14 September, a match already generating considerable global attention. India will wrap up their group stage campaign on 19 September against Oman.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Four stage, from which the two best-performing sides will advance to the final on Sunday, 28 September. The Super Four format ensures that teams face each other in a round-robin format, adding another layer of competitiveness.
India remains the most successful team in Asia Cup history, having lifted the trophy eight times. Sri Lanka follows closely with six titles, while Pakistan has secured the title twice. With new hosts, debut nations, and fierce rivalries in play, the 2025 edition promises to be one of the most exciting Asia Cups to date.
